With our cards formatted and our batteries charged Hamish and I arrived at Caswell House at 10am with a full days reportage ahead of us. We found the girls getting ready and wearing matching kimonos, and the boys drinking beer in shorts.
The wedding was set for two o’clock on the lawn, under a very grey sky. Everyone kept their fingers crossed that the rain would pass us by. (The wet weather back up, the barn was still a beautiful place to get married).
The weather was on our side and we were treated to a lovely ceremony on the lawn followed by a procession back to the main house. After some hugs we stole the bride and groom and headed into the gardens get some photos of the happy couple. I even managed another cheeky ‘Brenizer-effect’ portrait.
After shooting some groups and some more reportage it was time for dinner and the speeches. Then we stole the couple for a brief shoot in the evening light. The day had taken a lot of planning, and Yannick’s speech had been both funny and very moving, both bride and groom were more relaxed as we headed for the swing set in the meadow.
We ended the day with their first dance and the party before leaving them to their celebration.
If you’re planning a wedding and would like Hamish and I to join you drop me a line – here are few of my faves from the day:
